iSchool Partners With SUNY Morrisville to Provide Path for Master’s Students

The School of Information Studies (iSchool) has forged a new partnership with SUNY Morrisville to create a pathway for more students to enroll in master’s degree programs at the iSchool. The collaboration aims to open up opportunities for SUNY Morrisville’s undergraduate students to pursue master’s degrees in applied data science, information systems, and library and information science programs at the iSchool.

Zachary Schuster, the iSchool’s director of admissions and recruitment, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This provides a smooth pathway for SUNY Morrisville students to enter the exciting fields of data science, librarianship, and information sciences.” Schuster, who previously worked at SUNY Morrisville, added, “I am really excited to offer this opportunity to their graduates. Syracuse University is in close proximity to SUNY Morrisville, making our programs attractive and convenient. Students will enter in-demand career areas with outstanding placement and salary outcomes.”

In addition to facilitating a seamless transition for students, the iSchool will waive application fees for those applying from SUNY Morrisville. Successful applicants will also receive a guaranteed scholarship ranging from 25% to 50% of tuition charges, with the potential for further scholarships based on individual circumstances.

Tony Contento, dean for the School of Agriculture, Business and Technology at SUNY Morrisville, emphasized the shared commitment to excellence in Information Science, stating, “We’re delighted to offer SUNY Morrisville’s Computer and Information Science students a seamless path to graduate studies in these spectacular programs at Syracuse University.”

The partnership between the two institutions is underpinned by a mutual dedication to providing cutting-edge education and equipping students with the necessary skills to excel in the digital age. Both parties anticipate fruitful collaborations as they work together to shape the future of technology education.

SUNY Morrisville, a public college with locations in Morrisville and Norwich, is part of the State University of New York system.
